Service Description

In this hands-on class, you will learn how to make fresh tortillas and assemble tacos. The menu includes - Shrimp Tacos - Pico de Gallo - Cilantro Creamy Shrimp Sauce - Quick Pickled Cabbage, Purple Onions, Carrot, & Jalapeño - Heirloom Corn Tortillas These shrimp tacos are inspired from the flavors of southern Texas and the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Students will learn to make tacos from scratch starting with homemade heirloom corn tortillas. All the while listening to a brief history of masa and its impact on Mexican and American culture. A quick pickling lesson will teach students how to turn their favorite vegetables into flavorful toppings for their tacos. Finally the class will learn to make a creamy cilantro sauce and pico de gallo to top off these tantalizing tacos. Our classes are BYOB. The class is led by Jorge Alberto Coronado, the Owner and Operator for Coronado Commissary.

Our cooking classes may be cancelled 48 hours in advance for future class credit. We do not offer refunds on classes, however you are can send someone else in your place or request a credit for future class or a gift receipt.
