Sourdough discard is the portion of your sourdough starter that is removed and discarded before feeding what’s left in the jar. The texture is less bubbly (if bubbly at all) when compared to fluffy active starter. In this class, we will learn about how to use sourdough discard in recipes, ensuring no waste and imparting maximum flavor to your dishes. Trent Shaskan from Icon Bread/3rd Street Market will give a brief intro on sourdough, sourdough starter and together we will share 2-3 recipes, including crackers, scallion pancakes, and banana bread, all featuring sourdough starter from Icon Bread.
Our cooking classes may be cancelled 48 hours in advance for future class credit. We do not offer refunds on classes, however you are can send someone else in your place or request a credit for future class or a gift receipt.
